The Good Idea Fairy

02/12/13

Well today we are gonna talk about common sense. Most people have never held a gun, nor do they want to. Then the day comes where the worst thing in the world happens, and they feel the need to protect themselves. It’s these people that cause accidents. Whether you feel you’re in imminent danger or not, it’s in your best interest to learn your firearm, take a class, go to a range and ask questions, learn proper techniques, and that is what we are here to do. To help you learn what you don’t know. So if you have any questions regarding firearms, or any other specific questions feel free to leave a message here, and I will get right on back to ya. Y’all have a good one ya hear.

I want to take a minute to discuss the selection of armament. Everbody in all of their sane capacity has the God given right to defend themselves. There is one caveat to this, bigger is not always better. What is better is chosing a weapon you arecomfortable with; not something you are scared is going to fly out of your grip everytime you send a round down range. If you are more in tune to shooting a .380, then shoot a .380. If you have to confidence, know how, and need, then pack a .45 or .357. Heaven forbid someone come at a woman who knows her way around a Colt hahahaha. All I’m getting at is know, love, and understand your gun. Treat it right and it will treat you right.

Sorry I missed yall yesterday. So as it happens I took my AR out today to put a couple dozen rounds through it, and an interesting thought came across my mind. I really do not see too many women out there who own their own. Look, here is the deal, it is not gonna bite you by any means. A rifle in .223/5.56mm does not put you on your rear-end. It is always a blast to shoot, and a whole hell of a time when you and a bunch of friends got out to the range. Open yor minds to more than just a small caliber pistol or .22 rifle. All this media coverage on assualt rifles should not, I REPEAT SHOULD NOT, chase your minds away from the fact that these types of rifles are a pure adrenaline rush on the range. Take a chance and have some. On that note I am going to get off my mini soap box and move on. See yall next time.

It has recently been publisized that Magpul, a company widely known for their weapon accessories and more importantly the producer of the PMAG, has come under fire from the governement and the state of Colorado. Magpul was given an ultimatum to either cease the production and distribution of the PMAG, or remove their company from the state of Colorado. The govenor of Texas has offered proudly to accept Magpul into the industry of Texas. I think they should do it personaly. I enjoy all of my Magpul products. The morale of the story is do not let someone hinder what you believe in, and what you are proud of.

Today is a special day of posting. I have started making improvements to my AR15 today, low pro gas block, new sights, new muzzle brake, match grade trigger, and replacement dust cover. A spread of punching out rivets and resetting my gas tube is a pain in my fourth point of contact. It is always a great thing to learn new techniques, but I do recommend always to consult someone of higher knowledge. Try not to get in over your head please. There are always newer videos being posted on the site to assist in your knowledge base. Keep shooting straight y’all.

Howdy yall! Hope your days of shooting have been as great as mine have. Trying to get a little feedback from anyone who reads these posts. I’m debating on putting up some personal shooting videos, that is if Bunny doesn’t mind. I’ll have to talk to her about that one. So if anyone would like to see videos of myself or Bunny shooting be sure and let us know. We always enjoy fun days on the firing line. Keep safe out there and remember to keep those rounds headed down range.

Well seems to be time for another installment through the eyes of me. Today i was out at a local gun store, and happened across something that made me smile ear to ear. I saw a woman at the counter trying out pistols to see what she seemed comfortable with. I made small conversation with her and the man behind the counter just to lend a knowledgable hand. There was no reason of imminent threat to home or self. She just wanted to get into shooting on her own. I love seeing not only a woman, but anyone for that matter to become an avid shooter. It’s days and experiences like this that make what I do even more worth it. Keep safe out there and remember to keep those rounds headed down range.

Today marks a day of reckoning! I am fed up with the narrow minded and short sided views of so many ignorant people in this world. It is our rights as citizens of this nation to own, use, and maintain our right to keep and bare arms. We as a whole, those who obide by the constitution and laws governing our states, are being stripped of these rights piece by piece. Men and women alike shoot competitively and leisurely, there is no one safe from this strong arm being thrusted towards us. We have to fight for our rights!
